Ducted heating

I can remember the moment I finally got a heating system installed into my apartment. To give a bit of context to my complaints, I had spent a whole month of winter freezing in my apartment on the thirteenth floor before I finally decided to look into get some form of heat into my place. I had spent that period of time wrapped in blankets, wearing three layers of sweatpants and drinking too much green tea for my own good. I even got a cheap, portable heater from the supermarket to avoid having to set up an installation.

It’s not that I wouldn’t be able to afford ducted heating. I just didn’t want to have to do the work that was involved. I’m the worst at having to get stuff done. I do well under pressure if there’s a deadline but that’s the only time I’ll be productive. There was no one pressuring me to get a heating system installed into apartment other than myself. And maybe my mother. But I knew that I wasn’t going to be getting a heating system anytime soon.

So when I finally did, it felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulder. I had been avoiding this installation for months because I had been expecting a whole ordeal. I had expected it to take a week or so and there to be endless paperwork and a bunch of other adult responsibilities I have no idea about. But to my surprise, it only took a day or two and the maintenance man was very laid back about the whole thing.

To top it all off, there was almost little to no forms I had to fill out and the bill wasn’t too hard on my bank either. Granted my apartment is not that big so I didn’t need too much of it to be heated but I was expecting a lot more of a fee. I also had a small discount for being a new customer which was great. A piece of advice, look in magazines and online for coupons to use. Usually these companies have discounts to help you out which is great because my job doesn’t pay as well I’d like.

I was so pleasantly surprised by the experience that it encouraged me to confront more issues I was putting off. Unfortunately, they weren’t as simple as the ducted heating installation but I managed to get things done. So if you’re avoiding somethings, just think of this story, not everything is as hard as it seems.
