Becoming a volunteer with Macedon Ranges Health

Are you interested in volunteering?

Macedon Ranges Health encourages and supports volunteers in a range of settings. Possibilities include:

  • Visiting Community Clients for social visit in their home.
  • Transport to local shops may be required for some clients.
  • Visit Residents in The Oaks Nursing Home and The Elms Hostel.
  • Engage resident in conversation or read stories, or go for a walk around the gardens or for a cuppa.

 Areas of interest of current residents requiring a volunteer are:

  • Music
  • Gardening
  • Art & Craft
  • Stamp collecting
  • Reading outback stories
  • Aviation
  • Politics and current affairs.

 Volunteers are also required to provide assistance with:

  • Meals in The Oaks evening and lunch times
  • Cooking program in The Oaks 1st Wednesday of the month 2.30pm
  • Bingo every Tuesday in The Elms 2pm
  • Art Program Fridays 1.30 to 3pm
  • Supporting clients in Warm Water Exercise Mondays & Wednesdays
  • Monthly outing on Saturday afternoon with staff and residents
  • Christian Television last Friday of the month at 10-11.15am
  • Morning tea on Tuesdays
  • Administrative tasks and funding submissions
  • Acquired Brain Injury Group, 1st & 2nd Fridays of the month
  • Relief drivers for 12 seater bus, various days and evenings
  • Drivers for movie, shopping outing monthly on Friday afternoon
  • Community transport within Macedon Ranges
